| The main river arteries in the Strandja mountain are the Veleka and Rezvaya.The Mladezhka river, the Aidere river, the Stramnitsa river, the Diavolska river and the Elenitza river together with some glens are the major feeders. The water resources of the Strandja mountain are concentrated in the west Karst region, containing over 120 springs. The springs around Malko Tarnovo have the highest debit with 398 liter /sec. The local people worship some Karst springs as they believe their water is consecrated by a saint and possesses healing powers.The most healing is believed to be the Goliama Ayazma spring in the area of the village of Gramatikovo. |
